What is EUNGINEER?
EUNGINEER (EU's Digital Transformation Tools and Policies for Engineering Students Module) is an educational module supported by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Programme and conducted at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). The project is designed to analyze the impact of digital transformation and the European Union’s (EU) policies in this field on engineering and innovation activities.
Aim of the Project
While traditional engineering education primarily focuses on technical skills, recent advancements in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, and Big Data have made it essential for engineers to understand regulatory frameworks, policy-making processes, and the economics of technological change.
The main objective of the project is to introduce undergraduate and graduate students to EU policies, regulatory instruments, and practical implications related to the ethical, social, economic, and technical dimensions of emerging technologies.
In addition, through seminars organized within the scope of the project, this knowledge will be shared with industry professionals, stakeholders, and policymakers, aiming to strengthen the dialogue between academia and society.
